Cheryl Umaña

Artist Profile

Cheryl Umaña is a graduate of the UCLA School of Theatre, Film, and Television and of the LACC Theatre Academy. She has had the pleasure of working with various theatre companies throughout LA, some of which include: The Latino Theatre Company (Mother of Henry), Company of Angels (This Land), Artists at Play (In Love and Warcraft), and Breath of Fire (Digging Up the Dirt). Her most recent production was at the luminous Rogue Machine, playing an ousted Ecuadoran President in Middle of the World. Outside of LA, she has worked at St. Louis Rep (Mojada) and Boise Contemporary Theatre (Middle of the World).

She has also appeared in several commercials and is a dedicated voice over artist. She has appeared on Vida, All American, and the upcoming season of The Morning Show.

Cheryl first worked with Ben when she performed in the title role of his beautiful play Alma at the Kirk Douglas. She is so grateful to be working with Chance Theatre for the first time and with Ben again. His writing is a gift, and an impactful and important contribution to our art form and to society.
